Meet Jake, VP Of Technology & Analytics!

I am an introvert who prides himself in being a good listener, and a thoughtful problem solver. My wife, Ashley, and my cat, Chickie, are the center of my world outside of work. I’ve been brought into Fountain Digital to help guide our technical solutions across web, analytics and reporting, with the goal to maximize scalability and the value these solutions drive for our clients. I am self-taught and consider myself a lifelong learner – new ideas with practical applications are the energy that keeps me going.

1. Can you share a bit about your background and how it led you to where you are today?
   I started out looking for an internship in marketing since that was my degree in college. The market was very poor – at one point I considered doing a door-to-door sales internship. Dave Wolf gave me the opportunity to become a digital marketing intern, and it opened many doors for me. If not for that internship (and subsequent full-time role), I likely would not have gotten onto the fulfilling technical career path I am currently on.
   
2. What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Fountain Digital team?
   There are many hard workers and great thinkers who are willing to ask tough questions, investigate difficult problems, and navigate challenging situations. It is inspiring to be surrounded by doers and thinkers alike.
   
3. What is your favorite part of digital marketing?
   It invites people of different backgrounds and skills to come together for a common purpose. Its very nature breaks down silos and invites a special kind of innovation.
   
4. What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
   Bungee jumping head-first into a river. This pastime has since been outlawed.
   
5. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
   Back to New Zealand with my wife, Ashley. I would choose to go back because the country is beautiful and the people are very kind.
